I FINISHED THE FIRST DRAFT OF MY WOMEN'S FICTION...
MOUNTAINS OF DOUGH!
SO SO PROUD OF MYSELF.
This book has taken me a long time because I'd only write it while I stayed in our home in Winter Park, Colorado.
But, this year I found a great support group to check in with every week (sometimes more) throughout the month of November for the NaNoWrimo Challenge. We all managed to accomplish our goals - primarily because we encouraged each other to keep going. When I was in a fetal position in the middle of the month because the roof of this Colorado house had been torn off, the ceilings inside our home were all ripped down and we had a few walls that needed to be repaired as well. PLUS, Thanksgiving was around the corner and my beloved daughter and her family were arriving in less than 3 days. (We all took the CoVid test prior to her coming. Safety first!)
Anyway, my crew kept me going and I managed to finish my book before everyone got here. And even get in the first few revisions of many to come. Thank you Lyssa, Daniel and Lisa. WE ROCK!
My sister-in-law, Melissa, is an amazing audio book reader (yes, if you need one, drop me a note... I'll pass along her credentials,) a writer, a mother, a wife and works nights as a nurse. So, she participated in this challenge too and did fabulous. Just her work ethic is encouraging in itself, but she's also very logical. She's my Spock in the writing world. When we first started, I was going to edit what I'd already written to get "reacquainted" to the book. But when I complained to her about the scope of the project in one month's time, she Spocked me and said to forget about the editing right now. Just do what I love. WHICH IS WRITING! So, I took her advice and SAILED through the book.
Blessed to have such support. Thank you everyone. Sign up for my newsletters for updates on when this FUNNY, SNOWY ALBEIT WARM, book will be officially available. I'm very proud of it.
Oh, here's my certification of completion. Again, Woot! Woot!
