5/3/20 – BANANA BLOGS IS UP AND RUNNING
I flew with American Airlines for more than twenty-five years and the word ‘consistency’ was a completely foreign concept in the airline biz. Our one motto was “the only thing you can depend on is CHANGE.”
It’s time to stick with my old flying days and make a big CHANGE. I’m going to be CONSISTENT for the first time ever! Well, at least in my writing life.
I have this incredible lady who has been working on my website so I can access it and keep it updated. It’s time to start decorating it now with consistent entries. It’s like bedazzling the site and I’m super excited about this process.
So, WELCOME TO BANANA BLOGS. On this first blog, I just want to explain my weekly master plan with the website.
I have deemed Mondays to be all about our lives up in the mountains. I grew up in Colorado and my husband and I have a home in Winter Park, Colorado, which is basically a popular little town for skiers. Mountains of Dough is my humor/romance book set in Winter Park and I’m about halfway completed. So, I’m going to share some of the funny lines from that book and talk about hilarious experiences we’ve had on the slopes and during our family gatherings.
On Tuesdays, I’ll focus on my children’s early chapter series about Pepe, a darling Chihuahua, who is a Tooth Fairy for puppies. I’m technically renaming it to Tuesday’s Tooth Day in honor of this series. This Tuesday, it’s Cinco de Mayo. Or… PARTAY! Sadly, I’m not a big drinker anymore. I blame it on hormones. But, let’s face it, Chihuahua’s are the partiers of the dog world, so it works out perfectly. So, on Tuesday, I’ll be posting a picture of a Chihuahua who looks like a party animal – in honor of Cinco de Mayo and my series.
Wednesdays I’m going to focus on wacky dreams because I’m also starting to promote my new children’s early chapter series called Jaq’s Wacky Dreams. I found a great illustrator and we are getting close to seeing these fun books published. If you have ever had a child with night terrors or who just struggles getting to bed at night, this is the series for you. Jaq loves going to bed because her dreams are even more fun than her adventures during the day.
I’m going to try my first video blog on Thursday. Not even sure if I can post it on the new website, but I’ll try. DO NOT JUDGE. This quarantine has prevented all necessary beauty upkeep. Which means, no botox, coloring my hair at home, wearing boots & mittens in Hawaii to hide the nails, etc. But, hopefully, it will be a fun first try.
Friday I’m going to focus on my completed humor/mystery book, Allergies Over The Atlantic, and the second book in the series called Bunions Into Boston. This series is full of flying adventures, scuba diving in the Florida Keys, relationships (wait until you meet Martha and Milton – a newlywed couple in their eighties!) and Bassett Hounds (the clowns in the dog world.) So, if you’re interested in traveling, sex with dentures, the underwater world, or playing in Florida, check out my website on Fridays.
Finally, Saturday is just a fun day. I think I’m going to try to focus on writing about where I’m at physically. So, who knows? Again, the way we travel, it’s crazy. But then again, with this quarantine, I must “suffer” and stay here in Hawaii until they figure out a solution for us. Don’t worry, I bought a book about hilarious facts about Hawaii, so that will get me off to a good start.
Welp, thanks so much for checking in. I feel very consistent with this change. It helps having you with me.
